New York Fashion Week Day Three - It's All About the Color!

Day three of fashion week really showed off with neon colors and bold prints. Lacoste started off the day with flowy fabrics in variations of navy, nude, and neon hues. The models were all styled in loose natural waves, and baby pink lips to ensure attention stayed strictly on the clothes.

Jill Stuart put the emphasis on feminine fabrics and colors. The models, once again styled very naturally, wore variations of pink, and pastel yellow and orange, in feminine skirts and loose fitting tops, and structured bold crop jackets. The underlying theme of the show was keeping everything very feminine and simple.

Vivenne Tam focused on structured cuts and bold, grabbing prints. The collection consisted of pleated pants and short suites in various neons and deep reds, to bold patterns of all shapes and colors. The pieces showed heavy contrast between short and ruffled sun dresses to tailored pant and short suits.

Charlotte Ronson took a bit of a different approach than the other designers of the day. The collection kept things structured in tops of bright blue, pastel maxi dresses in floral prints, and nautical short suits. The fabrics ranged from heavy knits to luxurious silks and lace in everything from sweaters to leggings.

Monique Lhuillier was the last collection of the day and she put the emphasis on form fitting cocktail dresses and exaggerated ball gowns. As with previous shows, neon colors were the main focus ranging from bright blues to lemon yellows. The models were styled in slicked ponytails and dark lips to contrast the fabrics with simple yet elegant shoes.

The pattern of simple yet bold statements still seems to be going strong as fashion week continues. From neons to wild patterns in structured cuts, the focus is all on the outfits themselves.
