New York Fashion Week Day Two - Prints, Prints, and More Prints!

The second day of New York Fashion Week continued with dramatic prints, bold colors, and platinum.

Luca Luca opened the day with fun, flirty patterns and detailed tailoring. Upbeat music carried the hot pink-lipped models down the runway. Their hair seemed to be effortlessly styled and matched the more natural makeup.

Rebecca Taylor's collection took a differend spin than the other designers today. The clothing was more sleek and pale toned, with some added floral prints compared to the vibrant prints seen elsewhere today. Her models had their hair smoothed back and wore bold, flashy pigment on their eyes.

Nicole Miller came out with a bang today. The normal two-toned collections done in the past were trumped by crazy almost graffiti like prints that one would see any M.I.A. hipster wearing.

Although everyone's eyes were on the fabric of the collections, the shoes could not be overlooked. Gold and platinum pumps rocked today's runway. Both Luca Luca and Cynthia Rowley have this spring trend moving forward. Cynthia Rowley capped off the day continueing to show lots of print and textures. Her collection was the only one that showed off shoulder pad detailing as well as a significant amount of textured detail on numerous dresses.

Spring 2012 seems to be more about the fabric than what you accessorize with. Where last season was about gaudy jewelry it looks to be that you will find more women sporting bold colors paires with flashy shoes rather than the statement making jewelry we have seen in the past.
