Carolina Herrera’s collection ranged from ultra chic, New Yorker, to whimsical, Japanese inspired pieces. Reds, yellows, and soft greens were a common theme throughout the collection, as well as simple black and white themes, and were all complimented with ready-to-wear accessories such as sunglasses and scarves. Many of her pieces also featured very structured patterns and shapes.

The Carlos Miele collection featured very bright colors that were translated throughout. The show opened with flowy , fantasy-esque dresses and used those patterns within each piece that came down the runway. The pieces ranged from short, business dresses, to evening gowns, and even long pants with flowy tops. Each piece had the beginning Brazilian flare incorporated into them through color as well as the breezy feeling the first dramatic pieces showed.

Neon was certainly a theme in Rebecca Minkoff’s collection at Fashion Week. Her line featured some very structured pieces, mainly consisting of jackets. There was also lace incorporated in her line ranging from mini crop-tops, to long structured dresses. Her bold pieces were contrasted with smaller, less flashy patterns or neutral colors, attracting her ready-to-wear seeking costumers. And as a bonus to her finale, Rebecca Minkoff sported her new baby bump!

As posted on Facebook, Donna Karan is a lover of Haiti and spent part of her summer there, which was obviously Donna Karan’s inspiration for this line. The patterns were tribal at its purest and were complimented by wood accessories, dark makeup, and slicked back long ponytails that went on for days! The tribal quality was also translated simply with the color in some “not so tribal” pieces such as dramatic evening gowns. All of these looks were definitely targeted for today’s urban chic style.
