How To: Look Hot When the Temperatures Rise!

As the scorching heat of the Arizona sun is still upon us, we may find it difficult to maintain our fashion sense when we’re practically sweating it off. This heated dilemma can be solved faster than the time it takes to throw on the weather-appropriate maxi dress!

Olivia Alonso, 17, a freshman at the Walter Cronkite School declared, “I prefer layering which can make it difficult when it’s so hot outside but it does give me an excuse to overcompensate my layering of jewelry!” Alonso makes a very valid point here in that accessories can fill the void that a lack of apparel can cause us through these 100 plus degree days. Being practical isn’t half as fun as being trendy, so go for this summer’s bohemian chic look by incorporating lace, feathers, and pair your earthy palettes with an even wider spectrum of colors to mix it up.

Another student at the Walter Cronkite School, Brandi Porter, 18, voiced, “A fun summery scarf, cute gladiators, and flashy sunglasses can dress up any tank and shorts.” These staple pieces are never in short supply throughout the summer season. There’s no reason to dawn a bland outfit just because Mother Nature bans excessive clothing for the next month.
Variety can be found in all aspects of fashion whether it is the fall boots we still have packed away, or a pair of must-have sandals. Summer styles encompass everything colorful so when in doubt, wear the whole Crayola crayon box because now you have an excuse to!

Another definite plus is the convenience factor when sporting our summer wardrobes. It doesn't take too long to slip into a summery dress and throw on some flirty accessories. Despite the heat’s relentless toll on us, be foxy in fringe and florals, command your colors, and be fierce in your fedora!
