For the second year in a row, Banana Republic is holding a contest in which one lucky shopper will win their annual salary.
“We want to reward our customers and commemorate Labor Day by offering one lucky winner their yearly salary to spend however they please,” said Jack Calhoun, President of Banana Republic.
From Sept. 2 to Sept. 5, shoppers will be given a game piece at all Banana Republic stores that give them 30 percent, 50 percent, $30 or $50 off their purchase. Only one game piece will have the grand prize of one year’s salary (up to $100,000), said Banana Republic in a released statement.

“My family was in town and we were shopping at the local mall,” said Sara Egert, last year’s grand prize winner, on her website. “One of my favorite stores, Banana Republic was running a promotional contest. Put it this way, I was 1 in 1.5 million!”

Egert had recently become interested in Feng Shui and wanted to enroll in a formal program in California, which she was able to do after she won the “Win Your Salary” sweepstakes at Banana Republic in 2010.
“To truly have a financially worry-free year was a life changing experience, and one I will never forget,” said Egert.
Banana Republic is currently featuring a limited edition “Mad Men” collection inspired from the clothes from the popular TV show.
