For those of you who have not been apart of the Harry Potter phenomenon for the past 10 years, I can assume you know at least a little bit about the films leading lady Emma Watson. Emma Watson's beauty and style has taken America by storm ever since she first graced the red carpet in 2001.
We have seen her not only grow up physically on the red carpet and the big screen but we have seen her style evolve and mature as well. Although this is undoubtedly not Watson's last red carpet premiere this last week, it was her last as Hermionie Granger, one of the series main characters.
There were two premieres this month for the last film installment, the first was in London. Watson donned an Oscar de la Renta fall 2011 collection gown for the premiere and wowed everyone. The bodice was beaded and the skirt was layered tulle. The color was a muted grey which was extremely flattering. She also was smart and kept the jewelry simple. She was said to be, by many critics, a vision in tulle.
A few days later in the Big Apple, Emma took a little fashion risk by wearing a golden hued, strappless Bottega Veneta gown complete with sleek hair and metallic make-up.
"I kind of went safe, classic with London, but with New York I wanted to go a bit edgier, and I've just never seen a dress like it, it felt dramatic,"said Watson of her gown.
It definitely was nothing anyone had seen from Miss Watson on the red carpet before. And although some believed it looked like a curtain had been draped over her, her styling of the dress was perfection. Some people didn't know whether to applaud her for stepping out of the box or to be a little disappointed in her choice. Nevertheless, she did take a risk but her confidence and radiant smile on the red carpet really made the dress work.
Although Harry Potter has come to it's conclusion, I know we will be seeing a lot more of Emma Watson. As one of Hollywood's "It" girls we can always count on her to turn heads and make a statement on the carpet. No matter what she wears though, she is sure to be a stunner.
