Fashion is such an important part of Italy that it shapes much of the country’s culture. Not only does the country produce a rich history, but it is also the home of some of the biggest fashion houses in the world.

So many great designers are Italian, but there looks are all so different and stand out on their own. Take Missoni and Valentino for example. Both fashion houses originate from Italy but Missoni is known for its vibrant and colorful prints and patterns whereas Valentino epitomizes elegance and extravagance. The abundance of Italian designers offer a multitude of unique and distinct Italian designs.

Italian fashion can also be seen on the streets through everyday Italian people. Since fashion is a major part of Italian life, Italians dress up most days, pay attention to detail and put much thought into their wardrobe. On the streets, darker colors, leather, accessories and trendy and chic clothing that goes well together are popular. Italians also value the quality and material of their clothing. As someone who gets satisfaction out of carefully picking out outfits to wear and enjoys dressing up, Italy is the top international fashion destination for me!
