I loved when women in the 1940s always went out wearing dainty hats askew on top of classically coiffed hair. Hat styles varied from netting to feathers, but they were always sophisticated. Hats aren't a really a staple anymore in the average wardrobe. Maybe they're seen as too fussy or impractical, but what about fashion isn't? Maybe it's just my taste (I've always been partial to vintage), but I would definitely like to see more 40s-inspired hats grace the runways.
